Welcome to Cullum Welch Court

Cullum Welch Court is a residential nursing home within Morden College, a very modern care home with a long-standing tradition of looking after older people. A self-contained 60-bed residential care home with full-time nursing care and a generous staffing ratio, Cullum Welch Court offers residential, nursing and dementia care on a 24/7 basis. It is relaxed, friendly, non-prescriptive and welcoming to all. Our highly qualified and trained staff include registered nurses, healthcare assistants, activity staff, housekeepers, caterers and an in-house physiotherapist, along with an in-house salon and hairdresser. We retain a chiropodist who visits every week. All our staff are directly employed and we never use agency staff, thereby ensuring continuity of care. We offer unrestricted visiting and 24-hour pastoral care, along with a resident Chaplain who offers daily services in our beautiful on-site chapel. Morden College really is a wonderful place to live.

A home from home for those with extra needs

Today the Charity’s core purpose is to provide older people who are in need with a home for life, to support them as they grow older, and to provide care services, including residential care and residential nursing care, if the need arises. We are a strong community, committed to enabling the older people we support to have the highest quality of life, for the rest of their life.

Our capacity at Cullum Welch Court

Forget Me Not is an adapted specialist unit of 12 beds for individuals with dementia. Rosemary Wing has 16 bedrooms on the ground floor for residents who want easy access to the gardens, social club and wider facilities at Morden College, while on the first floor Rose and Lavender wings (both with 16 bedrooms) cover residential, nursing and palliative care. Residents of Cullum Welch Court, regardless of them being short-term respite or permanent, all have full access to the wider Morden College facilities, including the College Café coffee shop, Dame Susan Restaurant, chapel, library, bar, gym and extensive grounds. For those who want to venture a little further afield, we have our own bus service operating in the local area and between our three sites in Blackheath and Beckenham. And, of course, with a Freedom Pass, free travel around London is right on the doorstep.

Admissions Information

The Charity will not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, creed, sexual orientation, or religion; we welcome applications from single people, married couples or those in partnerships. Qualifying individuals, or their next of kin, can apply to the Charity for accommodation in a flat for independent living. Once an individual has been accepted into the Charity as a ‘resident beneficiary’ they are automatically eligible to use all services, including those in our residential care home, after an assessment of the need for care has been made by our qualified staff.
