HR Administrator (Ref: 0418/17)
Permanent – Part Time
25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £15,337 per annum (full time equivalent £21,473 per annum)

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Administrator to join our team and help provide an efficient and accurate administration service to the HR function. This is a busy role working within a HR team which is focused on delivering an excellent service and developing strong work relationships.

This role will report to the HR Manager on a daily basis and assist with HR administration tasks across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and selection, onboarding and learning and development, responding to HR queries that may arise during the process.

To succeed in this role you will have experience of delivering high quality customer care within an office environment, along with good organisational skills and effective communication skills both written and verbal. Whilst HR experience is not essential, this role would suit an excellent administrator looking to start a career in Human Resources.

We are looking to recruit an experienced administrator on a part time basis to support the Resident Support Manager at our Independent Living Accommodation in Beckenham, Kent.

This exciting opportunity will job share this role with a colleague and be responsible for providing professional, friendly and comprehensive administrative support to the services for residents including producing monthly newsletters, manage resident bookings for outings, guest flats etc, and act as the first point of contact for visitors at the reception.

The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team, have strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to understand and cope with emergency situations.

Practical office and administration experience, along with knowledge of office procedures and IT Skills including Excel and Publisher are essential to be successful in this position. We are looking for an apprentice/trainee Chef to work as a collaborative member of the Catering Team and deliver the best possible standards in terms of food quality, presentation and nutrition by preparing, cooking and serving meals in any of the College catering facilities, as directed. This is a role in which the jobholder will develop catering skills with a focus on catering for older people/special diets.

The main duties will include preparing fresh ingredients daily, assembling, finishing and plating up of dishes; participate in all opening and closing procedures including preparing food and equipment for cooking and service; adhere to daily kitchen routines including cleaning, temperature checks and other duties related to food safety and health and safety; can demonstrate excellent communication skills, supporting team members and working on initiative without direct supervision at times; perform stock takes, rotate stock, receive and safely store away deliveries as required; understand and demonstrate awareness of food costs and prevent wastage of food and resources; daily cleaning, washing up and clean down duties to maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and equipment; undertake all necessary training on food safety, food handling and Health and Safety as necessary.

To be successful for the role you must have enthusiasm with a keen desire to learn, strong work ethic, positive attitude, good time management skills, excellent grooming standards and be a team player. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, will be committed to delivering high standards of customer service to customers and flexible to work a variety of shifts on rota. Basic food preparation skills would be an advantage.

Commis Chef Level 2 Standard training will be provided with Maths and English if required. Subject to performance and availability, a permanent position as a chef may be offered after the successful completion of the apprenticeship.

You will be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative or within a team.
