Housekeeping General Assistant

We are looking for Housekeeping General Assistants who have 5* standards and are used to working in a team. They will be working across all areas of the College, including our independent living accommodation, and in-house laundry as well as in our 60-bed care home which has impeccably high standards. We are looking for staff who are willing to give 100% to ensure excellence in all areas.

The ideal candidates for these roles will have very high cleaning standards and be efficient with good communication skills. They should also like working with older people. Having a previous experience in cleaning and laundry in a healthcare environment would be advantageous.

We have a vacancy for an experienced and qualified electrician to join our multi-disciplined property maintenance team who are based in Blackheath, South East London, and also support our site at Beckenham, Kent when required. We need an enthusiastic and self-motivated electrician with a customer oriented approach.

You will be required to attend to both domestic properties for our beneficiaries and commercial/private tenants to carry out a range of electrical contracting duties, which can include rewires, new installations, consumer unit upgrades, testing, fault finding. You’ll have a recognised electrician’s qualification including City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing level 3 with City & Guilds Electrical Engineering National Award Level 4 (C-Cert for the electrical technician) or equivalent and a 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualification being essential, with experience of fault finding and testing of domestic electrical circuits preferred.

You will need to have a clean driving license, access to a vehicle, and your own hand tools, however we will provide you with a uniform and PPE to use when on duty.

The successful candidate must have a positive attitude towards work and be a team player as well as being able to work alone or without any supervision. Having good communication skills (both verbally and written) is also essential as this role will be dealing with our beneficiaries and tenants on a daily basis.

You’ll build relationships with our staff and residents and as this role will grow in line with our business, we are looking for a creative and ambitious Business IT Manager to lead that change.

As the successful applicant, you’ll have previously worked in a similarly diverse environment. You will be comfortable managing projects and holding responsibility for IT budgets. In line with improving our service delivery you’ll have previous experience of managing 3rd parties and implementing internal processes. This role would suit a professional with hands on experience – ideally you will have a computer or information system related degree or equivalent business experience – in Cyber Essentials and GDPR, knowledge of LAN networks, knowledge and experience of Windows operating systems, business critical supplier management, incident and problem management, leading/managing a project, and operational support of business critical systems.

Morden College is looking for people to work as Night Registered Nurses on a casual basis with a variety of shifts available from Monday to Sunday. Our Bank Registered Nurses are involved in providing high standards of nursing care to all residents within the home, carrying out an agreed plan of care and assist in the ongoing assessment, development and evaluation of care needs with none of the pressures of hospital nursing.

You will be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative or within a team. Some practical clinical experience in a care setting with the ability to deliver planned care are essential to be successful in this role as well as having a genuine interest in working with older people.

Having current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), NICE medication guidance and the Care Act 2014 are also important. However, a cheerful, friendly and flexible approach, with enthusiasm, commitment and imagination are valued as much at Morden College.
