Housekeeping General Assistant
Monday to Sunday rotating shift pattern
(Ref: 0418/18) Maternity Cover, 6 months Fixed Term,
Part Time – 27.5 hours per week

We are looking for Housekeeping General Assistants who have 5* standards and are used to working in a team. They will be working across all areas of the College, including our independent living accommodation, and in-house laundry as well as in our 60-bed care home which has impeccably high standards. We are looking for staff who are willing to give 100% to ensure excellence in all areas.

The ideal candidates for these roles will have very high cleaning standards and be efficient with good communication skills. They should also like working with older people. Having a previous experience in cleaning and laundry in a healthcare environment would be advantageous.

The role will be responsible for providing professional business support to Senior Leadership Team in the College to ensure we have effective financial control and decision making through the production of departmental budgets, monthly management accounts analysis and assisting budget holders interpret their department’s financial performance by assisting with the development of KPIs.

This is an ideal post for candidates who would like to contribute to the financial appraisal of the College’s performance by developing and providing analytical reports on the College’s activities through the guidance of the Financial Controller.

Candidates should have experience of producing monthly management accounts in a SME environment or similar, and will have a professional accountancy qualification or be part qualified. Previous experience of identifying and achieving efficiency targets is also essential.

The right candidate will need to have good communication skills and strong analytical and influencing skills in addition to developed Excel skills. Experience of Opera Accounts, an awareness of FRS102 and knowledge of New Charity SORP would be an advantage however they are not essential.

We are looking for an outgoing individual to join our team as a Lead Driver, who is keen to get more involved in their local community and cares deeply about improving the quality of life of residents. We’re passionate about what we do and we are seeking people who share that passion. This post covers our residents based in Blackheath and Beckenham, South East London. The hours of work are based upon need for the service, so you will be required to work some weekends and evenings.

You will be responsible for the driving and escort needs of Morden College residents, always ensuring the safety of passengers and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a full driving licence with previous experience of driving a minibus or a larger vehicle. A D1 licence is required for this role, a PCV licence would be preferred.

As well as having solid driving experience and know-how of driving larger vehicles, you will be supporting residents to get out of their homes, reconnect with the local community, and access stimulating activities that reflect their passions and personalities and reignite their love for life. A reasonable level of fitness is required for this post. This job can be physically demanding in terms of regular driving and manoeuvring wheelchairs to and from the vehicle and securing them once they are in the vehicle. Morden College is looking for people to work as Night Registered Nurses on a casual basis with a variety of shifts available from Monday to Sunday. Our Bank Registered Nurses are involved in providing high standards of nursing care to all residents within the home, carrying out an agreed plan of care and assist in the ongoing assessment, development and evaluation of care needs with none of the pressures of hospital nursing.

You will be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative or within a team. Some practical clinical experience in a care setting with the ability to deliver planned care are essential to be successful in this role as well as having a genuine interest in working with older people.

Having current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), NICE medication guidance and the Care Act 2014 are also important. However, a cheerful, friendly and flexible approach, with enthusiasm, commitment and imagination are valued as much at Morden College.

Morden College Domiciliary Care service is looking to employ additional health care workers to support residents from the charity between its two sites in Blackheath. The role involves providing personal care to individuals including washing, dressing, supervising medication and assisting with other aspects of living in the persons own home.

If you are an experienced care worker holding an NVQ or equivalent qualification contact us for an application form. We offer excellent rates of pay and conditions of service for the right persons.

You will be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. Some practical healthcare experience and the ability to deliver planned care are essential as well as being able to work well in a team.
